Glass roof systems bring in natural light to brighten your spaces and, with waterproof, double-glazed applications, provide four-season comfort. Ekim Yapı Sistemleri manufactures and installs glass roofs in İstanbul with its own team. They can be applied as fixed or retractable roofs over terraces, courtyards, entrance halls, cafés and restaurants.

Fixed and Retractable Roof Systems

A fixed glass roof fully encloses the space for maximum insulation and quiet. Retractable roof systems slide the glass or panel surface back on rails to open the space to the sky, while folding roof systems open the span entirely in a similar way. On our glass ceiling applications, motorised opening, a rain sensor and remote control are optional. We design either a fully enclosed or a retractable overhead cover as needed.

Double Glazing and Waterproofing

In our glass roof systems double glazing provides both thermal and acoustic insulation, reducing heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter. Tempered and laminated safety glass, concealed gutters and drainage systems make waterproofing standard. We calculate slope and structural loads for İstanbul's rain and wind conditions to achieve a long-lasting installation.

Where It Is Used

Glass roof systems are preferred for courtyards, skylights, terrace tops, restaurant and café façades, showrooms and entrance halls. They light up otherwise dark interiors with daylight and add an airy, modern feel. On wide-span projects we slim the load-bearing profiles so they do not interrupt the view.

Models and Glass Options

We engineer the glass roof in flat, sloped, dual-pitch (gable) or pyramid form. For the glazing we recommend double glazing, low-e coated glass, reflective solar-control glass or laminated safety glass according to the orientation and thermal needs. On hot south-facing elevations, incoming light is softened with solar-control glass or a sky screen.

The load-bearing structure is calculated in aluminium or a steel-aluminium combination depending on the span, and the profiles are slimmed so they do not interrupt the view. On retractable and folding roof systems, motorised drive, a rain sensor and remote control are optional, and ventilation flaps, shading blinds and lighting can be integrated.

Double-glazed glass roofs save energy by reducing winter heat loss and prevent summer overheating with solar-control glazing. Surfaces are designed to be accessible for easy cleaning, and concealed gutters and drainage discharge rainwater in an orderly way.
